Soilbond A01 Stabiliser Binder is a liquid product that binds particles together, enhancing the strength and stability of the treated area while reducing the risk of erosion-related issues. Australian-manufactured, dust-free, and naturally derived, it’s the ideal stabilising agent.
Soilbond® is specially formulated as an easily handled liquid, allowing it to be uniformly mixed into materials used to form roads and paths, providing the most effective binding action.
Soilbond® is a non-harmful, dust-free liquid product.

Soilbond A01 stabiliser / binder is a naturally derived binder suited for granitic sand materials and an ideal alternative to cement stabilisation as it’s made from natural materials. It’s a liquid emulsion that needs to be worked through the materials before compaction. It’s not a topically applied / spray on the compacted surface product. After compaction, it will provide stabilised material and a robust & durable surface, with a natural looking finish.
Please keep in mind that Soilbond is not a sealer, therefore the finished surface will still have fine loose particles that can be swept, but will not be eliminated.
Soilbond is an environmentally friendly, non-hazardous, non-dust, alternative to cement stabilisation and chemical products.
Soilbond offers the following benefits:
- Greater structural integrity, particularly under wet conditions
- Resistance to wind and water erosion
- It doesn’t leach over time
- Increases surface life
- Reductions in maintenance costs
- Provides a robust & durable surface
- Assists in reducing dust levels
- Maintains a natural look
- Easy and safe to install
- Premix or insitu apply
- Surface is trafficable straightaway
- Non-hazardous, environmentally friendly product and an ideal alternative to cement stabilization
- Australian made – we are the manufacturer
Materials suitable for Soilbond:
- Soilbond will bind with granitic sand materials including: decomposed granite, crushed limestone, gravel fines, toppings, crushed rock, sandstone, crushed bricks, crusher dust and recycled materials. For anything else, please let me know.
- There needs to be some fines/stones in the material up to a maximum of 20mm
- It’s not suitable for clean aggregates as there’s nothing to bind to
- Soilbond needs PI or clay to bind to – this is critical
Application rate:
- Standard application rate of 2% suits most installations
- Increasing the application rate to 3% will reduce the amount of loose fines on the surface and permeability
- When working with a slope / grade of 5 degrees or more we recommend lifting the application rate to 3%
Application Methods:
Soilbond A01 stabiliser / binder requires application as follows:
- stockpile / premixing; OR
- In situ application
- Mixing of Soilbond with the Granitic Material prior to laying is preferable, otherwise you need to scarify the top 50mm minimum (or as specified) & mix in the Soilbond then compact using a roller / wacker. We recommend a minimum of 50mm Compacted Depth at 2% per Tonne of Soilbond. Soilbond can be applied using a watering can or hose to spray over the area that has been scarified. It then requires levelling / compacting.
- Stockpile / premixing – this can be done with a bobcat, backhoe, excavator, cement mixer, basically any mechanical aid. If premixing material – it will need to be used within 24 – 48 hours max. Check OMC before compaction.
The critical points for a successful installation are:
- Using a granitic sand material that will effectively bind with Soilbond
- Ensuring Soilbond is uniformly mixed into the materials to achieve Optimum Moisture Content (clench test)
- if this is not achieved and the material is too dry prior to compaction, this can result in excess loose fines
- Properly compacted with a roller / wacker
- Once this is achieved the end result will see stabilised material with a robust and durable surface and a natural looking finish
